'THE CORAL JUNGLE', 1975
CORAL JUNGLE CASTAWAY
Alone you walk along the sun-kissed beach
Of a coral island cay;
I wonder if you're searching
For another shipwrecked castaway?
With Ben and Eva Cropp
You showed us sights of marine treasure
That, in the darkness of December,
I will recall with pleasure.
I'll remember the beautiful movements
That the Spanish Dancers make;
The hopeless, desperate twining
Of a Pon-farr gone sea snake;
Your mangrove walk in wellies
And, judging from your pose,
The smell of the mangrove swamps
Got right up your nose!
You swam with Ben and Eva
Beneath their ship afloat;
But when the sharks hove to you wisely
Stayed aboard the boat!
You scuba-dived beneath the waves
And played with friendly fish;
But throughout every episode
I harboured but one wish;
I wished I could walk beside you
And, for just one sun-blessed day,
I'd be the only girl on the island
Of the Coral Jungle castaway!
