DEATH OVER GENESIS

I watch you burning in the Genesis sky;
There was no other solution - you had to die;
But you go out in a blaze of glory
In this dramatic ending to your story.
You, too, died so that we may live;
Like Spock, you gave all you had to give;
But nothing can console me at the demise
Of my silver lady, my 'Enterprise'.
Will this dreadful carnage never end?
I have lost my son, my ship and my dearest friend.
But no! Spock is alive somewhere on this dying world.
I must find him before its exploding debris is hurled.
But how can I find him?  I don't know what to do;
I must save him and all the rest of the crew.
To return Spock to Vulcan must be my goal;
If I do not succeed, the price will be my soul.
But time is running out, I feel the trembling ground;
The planet is exploding and there are Klingons around.
Even if I find him, how can we escape?
I fear that it may already be too late.
Only on Vulcan will Spock's mind and body blend
And only then will this nightmare end.
But I must act now, no time for regret;
Farewell, my 'Enterprise' - I will never forget.
