ZARABETH'S MELD OF LOVE

His hesitant kiss warms me
And suddenly I know -
A gentle smile lights his solemn face
And love makes his brown eyes glow.
He effortlessly lifts and carries me
To my hitherto lonely bed;
And as he lies beside me
His long fingers lightly touch my head.
Suddenly I smell alien earths;
I see many-hued, alien skies;
I hear the sounds of alien beasts calling
Their strange, unearthly cries.
I view from afar a million stars,
A wonder to behold;
And as the galaxies majestically move
I see the beauty of the Universe unfold.
I am he and he is me -
We two have become one,
And the timeless beat of the Universe
Explodes in the heart of a nova sun.
I have never known such rapture before
And I thank all the gods above
That my wonderful alien joined with me
In the Vulcan Meld of Love.
